WHEN – 19-23 August ’24.  0900 – 1600 daily.
WHY – To develop instructor’s ability to deliver the DA training philosophy and material.   To provide an opportunity to enhance tactical considerations for solving problems with respect to legal authorities.

Topics to cover:
 – Training philosophy and methods of instruction,
– Striking, Clinch and Ground based fighting – application and options,
– Edge weapons – use and active counter measures,
– Long gun and pistol retention drills,
– Wrestling and take-down defences,
– Ground to feet recovery with and without the presence of kit and equipment,
– Team-fighting approach and concepts,
– Scenario based development and integrating live role players,
– Progressive incorporation of kit and equipment,
– Non-lethal Simuniton/UTMs training,
** No live fire on this course.  Simunition ONLY.

Participants will require:
– Gun belt, plate carrier or body armour, helmet, light pair of shooting gloves, eye protection,
– Pistol and long gun equipped with a sling,
– Simuniton / UTMs kits for both pistol and carbine rifle,
– Duty pants and t-shirts,
– Wrestling boots, mouthpiece and jock / cup,
– Water bottle, notepad and pen.
Minimum round count required:
– 50 rounds pistol,
– 125 rounds carbine rifle.
**Non-lethal marking cartridges only – FX Simunition, UTM ammunition,  Arex training ammunition.

Recommended Pre-requisites:
Participants are recommended to have a minimum of 3 years of active duty experience in their profession.
Minimum of 2 years formal training in a martial art;  Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, Muay Thai, Boxing, Krav Maga, Judo, Boxing.
Physically healthy and mentally stable.  Able to run 2.5 Kms in 15:30 or less.

Maximum course load of 12 participants.
