DA certified firearms instructor course.
Pistol, carbine rifle and shotgun.

5-day firearms course designed for a close quarters combat environment.
Skills and drills 5 meter – 75 meter engagements.
Speed, accuracy and precision engagements.

Topics to cover:
– Firearms safety, range safety protocols,
– Pistol and carbine integration,
– Shotgun use and breaching deployment strategies,
– Firearms retention drills,
– Fundamentals – Intermediate – Advanced applications,
– Coaching stratagies,
– Instructor Vs. Coach approach,
– Problem solving shooter error,
– Range set-up and target placement considerations,
– Target selection,
– Steel target safety and use,
– Low-light / use of white light,
– Use of ballistic shields,
– Team-fighting assimilation, and
– Physical exertion challenges.

Participants will require:
– Pistol, gun belt, minimum 3 magazines and magazine carrier,
– Carbine rifle, sling, minimum 3 magazines, weapon mounted white light,
– Pump-action shotgun with weapon-mounted white light,
– Full operational kit and equipment – vest / plate carrier, helmet,
– Range kit – eye and ear protection, decent footwear, duty pants and shirts,
– Gun cleaning kit, spare batteries, long gun optic / back-up iron sights,
– Sunscreen, bug repellant, water bottle, baseball cap, notepad and pen, and
– Healthy level of Physical and Mental conditioning, positive and open-minded attitude.

Minimum round count:
– Pistol – 1500 rounds frangible, or JHP, or Ball only.
– Carbine rifle – 2000 rounds frangible, or Hollow-point, or Ball only.
– Shotgun;
25 shells of slug, and
25 shells of TKO (or equivalent) Breaching rounds, and
75 shells of 00 buckshot, and
100 shells of bird shot.

WHEN – 16-20 September, 2024.  0830-1600 daily * Night shoot Thursday.
WHY – To enhance firearms instructor skills and exposure to DA specific standards.

Fees:
$1749.00 (Early Bird Fee).
$1999.00 (After August 15th).

12 participants maximum.

Recommended Pre-requisites:
Participants are recommended to have a minimum of 3 years of active duty experience in their profession.
Experience working from a holster.  Experience operating a long gun and a pistol together.
Physically healthy and mentally stable.  Able to run 2.5 Kms in 15:30 or less.
