Women’s Only Self-Defence Progressive Training Program. Series of 10 sessions:
There has been a lot of expressed interest in running more frequent training, for the ladies. After conversations with several women, we have decided to provide a platform for you to train.
Beginning February 29, 2020, we will run an exclusive program, for a maximum of 6 women per session.
This will be a progressive training package, consisting 10 sessions per training block. At the end of each training block, we will embark upon new and fresh material for the next series. To promote consistency in training, we will offer 1 hour sessions every second Saturday, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Although it is recommended to complete all 10 sessions, we respect the fact that life is busy. With that in mind, this training program is developed in a way that your growth will not be hindered, should an occasional session be missed.
Session 1 & 2: We’ll focus on striking and defences to various strikes. (29 Feb & 14 Mar)
Session 3 & 4: We’ll focus on clinch work/how to brake contact when somebody enters your personal space. (28 Mar & 11 Apr)
Session 5 & 6: We’ll focus on ground concepts/how to protect our vulnerabilities & efficiently recover back to our feet. (25 Apr & 9 May)
Session 7 & 8: We’ll focus on introduction of weapons commonly used in the streets of urban centres. (23 May & 6 Jun)
Session 9 & 10: We’ll focus on reviewing skills taught in the previous 8 sessions to conclude training block 1. (20 Jun & 4 Jul)
Location: 250 City Center Avenue
Participants will require comfortable athletic attire.
Direct Action will provide all training resources required for you to train safely and effectively.
Minimum age is 13 years old.
