Vehicle Combatives
2-day training event.
Day 1 – On the Range:
WHERE – Stittsville Shooting Ranges – 7265 Fernbank Rd.
Approximately 30 min drive west of downtown Ottawa.
WHEN – Friday, April, 2025. 9:30am to 4:30pm
WHAT – Pistol and Non-prohibited firearms training only training.
E.g., Pistol and Pistol calibre carbine (PCC) or any non-prohibited long gun variant.
Ballistic effects / deviations while shooting through vehicle materials.
Movement in and around vehicles including cover Vs. concealment considerations.
Combative integration – Fighting in confined space, fighting / from a vehicle while facing resistance.
WHO – Civilians / General public.
WHY – To build confidence and understanding of how to safely manipulate firearms in a team function while moving around vehicle materials.
Day 2 – On the mat;
Location: 250 City Center Ave. Ottawa, On (tbc).
Date: Saturday 5 April, 2025.
Time: 1:30pm to 6pm
Mixture of full spectrum approach to combative self-defence.
Striking, Clinch, Ground, with heavy emphasis on Edge weapons use & defence.
Medical considerations pertaining to massive bleeds / tourniquet application, airway obstruction, signs / counter measures to shock.
Participants will require the following:
1. Valid PAL(R) firearms license.
2. ATT through CFO for out of providence residents.
3. Pistol / gun belt / min of 3 magazines / magazine carrier.
4. Plate carrier or soft body armour.
5. Non-prohibited semi-automatic long gun, E.g., PCC, non-prohibited carbine variant, shotgun.
6. Long gun sling, minimum of 3 magazines per firearm platform.
7. Range kit including Eye and Ear protection.
* Long pants, decent footwear optimal for grip / traction / ankle protection, long sleeve shirt, light pair of shooting gloves.
Food and water as necessary, Sunscreen and bug replant.
8. Shorts and T-shirt.
9. 14 – 16 oz boxing gloves, Muay Thai shin pads (these can be provided as requested).
10. Mouth piece / jock.
Minimum round count:
PISTOL – 500 rounds (Frangible or lead ball only. NO green tip or steel core).
LONG GUN – 700 rounds. (Frangible or lead ball only. NO green tip or steel core).
DA will provide:
Range training venue, derelict vehicles to train on, range kit and targets,
coaching and instruction, tactical first responder instructor / First aid training, mat space, training aids, protective equipment.
Limited to 8 participants
Participant pre-requisites:
Participants must have a comfortable understanding of safe firearms handling. Have conducted intermediate levels of firearms training in the past 12 months. Physically fit and mentally healthy.
