3-day course specifically designed for professional members in uniform who are interested in preparation and development for employment within a specialized unit;
- Municipal, Provincial, Federal police – Interested in Tactical unit(s) selection,
- Canadian Armed Forces – Interested in CJIRU, CSOR, JTF2 unit(s) selection.
Mindset – Why and How to bulletproof our will.
Preparation – Exploring the differences between Training and Working out.
Conditioning – Tactical athletic development. Combative training (Striking / Clinch / Grappling skills development).
Firearms – Building confidence and familiarity with an unconventional approach.
Water confidence – Response management to an uncontrollable environment.
WHO: Military & Law Enforcement professionals.

Firearms range – Stittsville Shooting Ranges – 7265 Fernbank Rd., Ottawa.
Mat space – Barrhaven Academy of Martial Arts – 3777 Strandherd Dr. Unit #99.
Pool – Nepean Sportsplex – 1701 Woodroffe Ave., Ottawa.
Air B&B location – Kanata (central location) Exact address TBC.
WHEN: October 10-11-12, 2025.
Friday:
0830 – In the classroom;
Presentation on mindset, training aims, and mental toughness.
1300 – On the range;
Pistol and carbine rifle firearms training.
Saturday:
0830 – On the range;
Pistol and carbine rifle firearms training.
1300 – On the mat;
Combative training – Striking / Clinch / Grappling.
1900 – In the pool;
Water confidence training.
Sunday:
0900 – On the mat;
Combative training – Grappling / Edge weapons, and situational sparring drills.
1300 – On the range;
Pistol / Carbine / Shotgun training.
WHY: To help folks with their training and preparation. How to prioritize focus, attention and output.
Participants will require:
Physical training kit – shorts, t-shirts, running shoes,
Tactical clothing for the range – Duty pants with belt loops and pockets, long sleeve shirt, decent outdoor footwear,
Rain gear, baseball hat, extra layer as necessary,
Swimwear / swim goggles,
Water bottle, shower kit, notepad / pen.
DA will provide:
Pistol / Magazines / Holster,
Carbine rifle, sling & magazines,
Carbine rifle magazine carrier,
Ammunition,
Eye and ear protection,
Range kit and targets,
Training venues and resources,
Coaching and instruction,
Training aids / safety equipment,
Accommodations (Air B&B location TBC).
