Safe Action Holster Course.

All general public shooters welcome.  Hobby shooters & sport shooters.
Performing skills and drills while operating from a holster.
Effective range practice designed for novice to intermediate shooters who have limited experience shooting from a holster.
Participants will receive:
Confidence in firearms proficiency,
Firearms safety and Range safety protocols,
Holster set-up and considerations,
OWB – Outside the waistband carriage (No IWB or concealed carry holsters for this training),
Draw stroke and muzzle / trigger finger awareness,
Pistol fundamentals – body positioning / grip / sight alignment / trigger work /  follow through,
Malfunction drills,
Master hand and Support hand only shooting, and
Shooting on the move.
Mixture of steel and paper targets will be utilized.

WHO:  General Public.
WHAT:  Pistol – Safe Action Holster Course.
WHERE:  Stittsville Shooting Ranges – 7265 Fernbank Rd. Stittsville.
WHEN:  Friday April 28.  9am to 4pm.
WHY:  To build on personal shooting proficiencies, knowledge and experience with pistols & holsters.

Participant requirements:

1. Valid PAL(R) firearms licence.
2. ATT (Authorization to Travel) through your CFO (Chief Firearms Office) for out of province participants only.
3. Pistol, holster + minimum of 3 magazines.  Magazine carrier.  * OWB holsters only.
   *No concealed carry / Inside the waistband holsters.
4. Minimum round count – 700 rounds pistol ammunition / participant.
5. Eye protection, hearing protection.
6. Baseball hat, closed-toe shoes suitable for dynamic movements, long sleeve shirt/pants and extra layer for personal comfort, sunscreen, mosquito repellant, food / water as necessary.

Round count:
All shooters will require a minimum:
Pistol:
700 rounds – Ball or Frangible only.
*No steel core, or green tip ammunition.

Direct Action will provide:
Targets, coaching, instruction and firearms / range safety.

Space is limited to 10 participants.
