Participants are invited to take part in this unique training experience. Immerse yourself in Combative self-defence. Participants will develop their situational awareness, enhance their hands-on application while building confidence in personal protection.
This 2-day training event is designed to harden the body and the mind with a no-nonsense approach to delivering realistic material.
Suggested pre-requisites:
– Interested participants are encouraged to be physically capable of intensive activity,
– Comfortable level of safe firearms experience (long gun and pistol),
– Received training with Direct Action at least once in the past.
This 2-day training experience is meant to be challenging, engaging and rewarding. You will be pushed outside your comfort zones.
We will integrate a multitude of disciplines, including;
Firearms training, unarmed combat – striking and grappling,
use and defences pertaining to edged weapons and blunt objects.
Day 1 – On the Range:
Location: Stittsville Ranges – 7265 Ferbnbank Rd. (Range #5A)
Date: Thursday 4 July 24.
Time: 9:00am to 4:00pm.
Pistol and Non-prohibited carbine firearms only.
E.g., Pistol and Bren 2, Kodiak, Pistol calibre carbine (PCC), Etc..
Topics: Ballistic effects / deviations while shooting through vehicle materials.
Movement in and around vehicles including cover considerations.
Combative integration – Fighting in confined space, fighting / from a vehicle while facing resistance.
Dress: Lightweight tactical pants, decent footwear optimal for grip / traction / ankle protection, long sleeve shirt, light pair of shooting gloves.
Day 2 – On the mat;
Location: DA training facility – 379 Danforth Ave. Ottawa, On.
Date: Friday 5 July 24.
Time: 9:00am to 4:00pm.
Topics: Full spectrum combative approach to self-defence. Open palm striking, clinch work, ground / grappling, edge weapons. Multiple attacker counter measures. Blunt object defences.
Dress: Lightweight comfortable pants and t-shirt.
Optional: Mouthpiece, jock/cup, wrestling boots.
Participants will require the following:
1. Valid PAL(R) firearms license,
2. ATT through CFO (out of providence residents),
3. Pistol / gun belt / min of 3 magazines / magazine carrier,
4. Plate carrier or magazine carrier of choice,
5. Non-prohibited, semi-automatic long gun, E.g., PCC, Siberian, Kodiak, Tavor, or other equivalent.
Long gun sling, light pair of shooting gloves, eye protection, hearing protection.
Minimum round count:
PISTOL – 500 rounds (Frangible or lead ball only. NO green tip or steel core).
LONG GUN – 500 rounds. (Frangible or lead ball only. NO green tip or steel core).
DA will provide:
Range #5A – Stittsville, derelict vehicle to train, safe training parameters, range kits, targets, coaching and instruction, mat space, training aids, and safety equipment.
