Open to LEA / MIL ONLY

Prerequisites:  
 - Min 3 years in the profession
 - Basic understanding of CQB
 - Proficient with pistol and carbine rifle
 - Have Night Vision Optics and supporting equipment

Participants will require:
 - Full operational kit & equipment
 - Plate carrier
 - Gun belt
 - Sim Pistol and Carbine
 - Rifle sling
 - Min of 3 magazines per firearm platform
 - Sim bolt/barrel for both platforms
 - Helmet with NVG mount
 - Weapons mounted white light
 - Accessories and batteries
 - Eye and ear protection
 - Light pair of shooting gloves

Minimum round count / participant
Pistol: 100 rounds live (Ball or Frangible).  50 rounds Simunition non - lethal marking cartridges.
Carbine: 200 rounds live (Ball or Frangible).  100 rounds Simunition non - lethal marking cartridges.  
Diversionary Devices (DD's):  2 x training bodies.  10 x training inserts.

What to Expect
This course is designed to develop CQB instructors and experienced operators by refining hands-on skills while strengthening the ability to effectively teach tactics within a close quarters environment.

Participants will have their individual movement, weapon handling, and CQB techniques evaluated and enhanced through progressive training drills and practical exercises.

A major focus of the course is instructor development.  Participants  will learn how to effectively transfer knowledge, coach teammates, and clearly explain the “why” and “when” behind tactical decisions in CQB operations.

Training will follow a progressive model, incorporating dry drills, Simunition, Live-fire applications, including the integration on Night Optic Device training.
Scenarios will include:

  • Open and closed door entries

  • Hallways and confined spaces

  • Offset openings and angles

  • Stairwell operations

  • Dynamic and deliberate entry options

  • Use of distraction devices (DDs)

  • Barricaded suspect situations

  • Armed and assaultive behaviour considerations

Participants will also develop skills in delivering professional safety briefs, managing training information, and leading structured post-operation or training debriefs.

By the end of the course, participants will be better equipped to operate within and instruct CQB teams while maintaining high standards of safety, communication, and tactical proficiency.

Day 1
Morning: 90-minute presentation on Close Quarters Combat (CQC) principles and operational mindset.
Afternoon: CQB practical training focusing on 1, 2, and 4-member team options, including staging, stacking, and entry techniques. Instruction will also cover considerations for structure  materials and methods of entry. 
Location - Niagara (exact training venue address will be provided to registered participants).

Day 2
Morning: 90-minute presentation on medical countermeasures, including massive bleeding , airway management, and shock recognition/treatment.
In the CQB: Practical training focusing on 4- member team options.  Corner fed / centre fed rooms.  Barricades and visual obstacles.  Operator down drills. 
Location - Niagara.

Day 3
Morning: 90-mins Defensive Tactics (DT) session covering firearms retention drills, edged-weapon defenses, and 2-operator control tactics.
Remainder of the day:  6-member team movement with the mix of live role players and shoot / no-shoot reactive targets. 
Location - Niagara.

Day 4
CQB training focusing on 4, 6, and 10 - member team operations.  Multi-team /multi-entry point options.  Link-up drills.  Blue-on-Blue considerations - avoidance protocols.  Hallways, corners, and stairwells.  Live role player scenarios and mix of shoot / no-shoot reactive paper targets. 
Location - Hamilton.   3-story vacant school.  Venue address will be provided for registered participants.  

Day 5
Student-led teach backs.  4-member teams of student - instructors will be given direction on lesson plan(s) to offer instruction and feedback to a body of basic students.  Students (TBC).  
Location - Niagara.
