2-day Combative / DT enhancement course
WHO - Open to all. General public, Military, Law Enforcement, First Responders.
WHERE - Ottawa – 1977 St. Joseph Blvd. Orleans (Gracie Barra East location).
WHEN – Monday 15 June & Tuesday 16 June 2026. 8:30pm to 4:30pm.
WHY – To enhance knowledge and understanding of combatives / defensive tactics skills.
Deliverables:
Striking, clinch and ground work. With and without the presence of weapons.
Edge weapons defences. Blunt object defence. Pistol retention drills.
Cuffing, searching and escorting methods.
De-escalation and Use of force options.
Recommended prerequisites:
Participants to be physically healthy and mentally stable. Have a basic understanding of footwork, basic understanding of striking and counter striking, basic understand of grappling positions and terminology. Basic understanding of pistol manipulations.
Requirements:
Participants arrive with:
Comfortable pants with belt loops (E.g., Tactical / Duty / Combat pants). T-shirts. Duty belt / combat belt with holster. Training (inert) pistol. Soft body armour.
*Training pistol may be provided.
**NO LIVE GUNS / AMMUNITION needed. All dry training only.
Optional:
Wrestling boots for on the mat. Mouthpiece and jock.
*No sock feet or outdoor footwear on the mats.
DA will provide:
All training aids and safety equipment will be provided.
Fees:
Registration through the DA website only.
Minimum of 8 and Maximum of 12 participants.
