Edge weapons Seminar

WHO - Open to all. General public, Military, Law Enforcement, First Responders.
WHERE - Ottawa – Barrhaven Academy of Martial Arts - 3777 Strandherd Dr. Unit #99
WHEN – Saturday, 13 June 2026. 1:30pm to 5:30pm.
WHY – To enhance skills / knowledge and understanding of personal protection.

Deliverables:
Overview of Sections 34 & 35 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Self-defence and property protection considerations. Environmental understanding, edge
weapons awareness, stress management, defences to armed attacker(s). Striking
and clinch work options, ground to feet recovery considerations.
De-escalation / Escalation of force respects.

Recommended prerequisites:
Participants to be physically healthy and mentally stable. This course will be
physically demanding and cognitively challenging. 

Requirements:
Participants arrive with comfortable athletic attire. Clothes that would be worn on a
regular / normal outing in public with friends or family. Water bottle. Notepad / Pen.

Optional: Wrestling boots for on the mat. Mouthpiece and jock.
*No sock feet or outdoor footwear on the mats.

Participants who like to bring their own training blades are welcome to do so.
* A full safety check / clearing of all live-blades will be conducted prior to training.

DA will provide:
All required training blades / training aids and equipment as necessary.

Fees:
Registration through the DA website only.
Minimum of 8 and Maximum of 14 participants.
